Susan has been working at Obsidian Real Estate Group for the last year. She was hired on as Office Manager for her professionalism, extensive knowledge in real estate and construction, her negotiation skills, and supervisory abilities. In her short time at Obsidian, her exceptional organizational skills have proven to be an invaluable asset to the company. She enjoys working for Obsidian Real Estate Group because she loves working with people. She and Brian have a “synergistic” relationship which extends to the company and their clients.
Susan grew up in the Monterey Peninsula where she raised her family. She enjoys traveling, golf, hiking and kayaking just to name a few hobbies. Additionally, she’s a lifelong equestrian, riding and training horses as a young adult. For many years she taught horsemanship to beginner riders and loved volunteering her time judging Western and English schooling shows. She has traveled to Ireland many times to partake in equestrian cross country jumping and to visit family. She also supports the Bend community by volunteering at Cascades Theatrical Company, a non-profit organization.
Early on she developed a passion for helping people in real estate and spent 30 years as a California realtor. She retired in 2019 and moved to Bend, Oregon but retirement didn’t last long. “I missed being of service and working with people and was excited to be a part of the Obsidian team.” In her quest to serve the community and be an integral part of the team she decided to become an independent contractor and earned her Oregon Broker’s license in 2020.

The most rewarding experience for her is to educate clients about the real estate process. For a buyer, finding a lender and getting prequalified is the first important step. “Before you even begin looking for a home, you need to establish a relationship with a lender and get pre-qualified.” She helps clients understand market conditions and loves creating strategies to meet their individual needs so they get the best value, whether buying or selling. For sellers she emphasizes the importance of making the property presentable before putting it on the market. “It might sound cliché, but first impressions are everything.
